It is our aim that every school in the Trust is consistently good and that all our schools aspire to be even better.
Central to our school improvement strategy is our strong commitment to working collaboratively and in partnership with all our schools and across our wider learning community to improve the learning and life chances of all our children and young people.
Our commitment to bringing about wider school improvement is implicit in our vision and values and this ambition is strongly reflected in our strategy.
We work in partnership with our schools and our leaders work collaboratively, sharing and exchanging best practice and expertise and providing support for each other and our wider teams.
School improvement takes a variety of forms across the Trust. It is underpinned by the following principles and informed by evidence-based research.
We invest in:
- The professional development of our staff;
- The learning environments across our schools;
- The provision we make to support all our pupils’ futures.
We enable everyone to be the best they can be every day.
We balance support and challenge:
- The CEO and Director of Education (Primary) work closely with Headteachers and meet with them fortnightly as members of the Trust’s Leadership Group. They also meet with Headteachers individually;
- The Trust’s School Improvement Lead (Primary) is currently deployed across our primary schools. She works closely with our primary school headteachers, subject leaders and early career teachers. She also supports curriculum development, teaching and learning, moderation and assessment. Where appropriate we also engage consultant support;
- The CEO, as an experienced secondary school leader, works closely with our secondary school headteacher to prioritise internal school improvements. However, we are also open to working in partnership with a wider group of schools to support transition, networking and peer reviews.
The procedures followed by the Trust are underpinned by the four-stage model of school improvement:
