Our congratulations go to everyone at Chesterton Primary School.
The school was inspected by Ofsted on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 June 2025 and the final report was published on Ofsted’s website on Friday 18 July.
We are all very pleased with the outcome and we were thrilled to be able to provide everyone with celebratory ices creams at the end of a busy term.
The inspection team judged the school to be good on all measures. Specifically, the report describes Chesterton as ‘a happy, welcoming and inclusive school. The school’s vision, ‘growing together, learning forever’, is at the heart of all that it provides.’ Furthermore, it notes ‘the school provides many exciting experiences to ignite pupils’ enthusiasm for learning…’
Chesterton Primary School has been on a significant improvement journey which was impeded by the pandemic. However, the school has made rapid progress over the last three years and this success is a testament to the leadership of Libby Pringle, Headteacher, and the wider school team.
The inspection team noted the high level of need within the school and the efforts all staff make to ensure all pupils make progress and positive contributions. In their informal feedback to the Trust, governors and leadership team, the inspectors affirmed that the school was securely good with many strong features that are worth sharing. Commendably the report confirms, ‘Most parents are very happy with the school. They typically comment on the incredible staff, who help their children to thrive.’
Mark Lees, Chair of the Trust’s Board, described the Ofsted report as ‘a great read and an excellent moment to celebrate the work of the school and Trust.’
Anne James, Director of Children’s Service at Gloucestershire County Council, also congratulated Libby Pringle, Headteacher: ‘Fantastic to read this report which reflects the ethos and achievements of the school so well. Thanks to you and your team for the progress you’ve made.’
