Since January 2025, Siddington C of E Primary School has been able to take advantage of the new ‘legacy’ building that has recently been completed on site.
On Tuesday 1 April 2025, the new facilities were officially opened by Lord Bathurst at an event jointly coordinated by the school and Bathurst Developments Limited and attended by over 50 guests.
Chiquita Henson, Trust Lead (CEO), initially welcomed everyone to the school and thanked the team at Bathurst Developments Limited for such a valuable asset, before everyone walked around to the school’s new front entrance where Lord Bathurst provided some context before cutting the ribbon and initiating a tour of the new facilities. Guests were welcomed into the school’s new hall where pupils were taking part in a yoga class which was then followed by a performance by the school’s choir. One pupil, who had been fascinated by the progress of the build, delivered his own vote of thanks!
Built by Bathurst Developments’ Limited as a part of the new residential development, the new accommodation will temporarily house the new school when it first opens for 2-3 years and before it moves to its permanent site at the heart of The Steadings.
Siddington C of E Primary School will be able to use the new facilities over the next 4 years as following a review with Gloucestershire County Council’s Primary Place Planning Team and Bathurst Developments Ltd in December, we learnt that the new school, which most recently was scheduled to open in September 2026, is now expected to open in September 2029.
The new building is connected to the existing school and provides a new reception area, an open plan learning or resource area, facilities for pupils and staff and a very spacious school hall.
We are very grateful to the community of Siddington C of E Primary School who have been incredibly patient during the building work over the last 18 months. However, the wait has been exceptionally worthwhile.
