In July 2024, Down Ampney C of E Primary School and Sherborne C of E Primary School received their Academy Orders and will join the Trust in 2024-25.
We are currently working closely with each school, the Diocese and the Regional Director’s Office to ensure they can both make smooth transitions into the Trust.
This will bring the total number of VC schools in the Trust to three. Our current Church School, Siddington C of E Primary, is looking forward to working in partnership with Down Ampney and Sherborne around Christian distinctiveness.
In preparation for joining the Trust, the headteacher and governors of each school attended training sessions led by Roland Roberts, the Diocese’s Principal Advisor for Governance, in April and May 2024. These sessions were hosted locally by the Trust.
The opening of our new primary school which will serve families living in The Steadings, a new residential area in Cirencester, has been postponed. The Steadings Primary School will now open in September 2026. We have consulted on the school’s Admissions’ Policy and the school’s website is in development.
The temporary accommodation for the new school is currently under construction at Siddington C of E Primary School and is scheduled to be finished in November 2024. It will be available for the school’s use in the interim period. This ‘legacy’ building will provide a new school and adjacent facilities, including a new reception area.
