Our schools reopened to staff on Monday 2 September for an in-service training day and to pupils on Tuesday 3 September 2024. It was lovely to welcome everyone back after the summer break and pause for reflection.
We are very pleased to celebrate the outcomes achieved by each of our schools’ ‘Classes of 2024’! We are very grateful for the contribution every staff member makes to ensuring our pupils across the Trust can be the best they can be every day and are ready for the next stage in their learning.
We congratulate Helen Charlesworth and Liz Lang on their joint appointment to the temporary post of Headteacher at Cirencester Deer Park School. This is an exciting and innovative co-headship for one year. We are learning from the experience of other secondary co-headships.
We also congratulate Jo Rogers (from Kemble Primary School) and Rachael Scott on their temporary appointments within the Trust to Chesterton Primary School. Both will cover a period of maternity leave. Jo Roger’s secondment to the post of SENDCO and C&I Lead will enable her to gain wider experience in this specialist field. Rachael Scott will continue to support our primary schools as School Improvement Lead three days a week, but she will also join Chesterton Primary School’s leadership team, two days a week as temporary Deputy Head.
Wider professional development opportunities in 2023-24 led to 10 colleagues across the Trust completing a range of National Professional Qualifications and a further 8 completed an accredited course in Instructional Coaching with the Ambition Institute. Furthermore, working in partnership with the local Teaching School hub, the Trust supported our Early Career Teachers in their first and second years. We congratulate colleagues on their achievements.
Staff seeking wider school leadership experience in a different context are invited to apply to become governors in our schools, especially ones where they do not currently work. Our local governing bodies will benefit from their insights and expertise. These are voluntary, but very rewarding roles for staff, parents and other members of our local community.
